Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Copy herewith) Additional documents:
Minutes: The Chair, Councillor Kilbride asked the Electoral Services Manager to present the Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places report.
The Electoral Services Manager presented the recommendations of the Local Returning Officer in relation to the Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places under the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013. She further explained that the introduction of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 requires each local authority to carry out a review of UK Parliamentary Polling Districts and Polling Places every fifth year after 1 October 2013. Subsequently, the next compulsory review needs to be completed between 1 October 2018 and 31 January 2020 (incl.).
RESOLVED:
1. Noted the representations of the Local and Acting Returning Officer and the public consultation that will now take place as set out in Appendix 1. 2. Noted the final recommendations will be brought to a meeting of the Committee on 5 November 2019.
